Riyadh International Book Fair 2025 Opens with Global Publishers

The Riyadh International Book Fair 2025 opened on Thursday at Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University. The fair will continue through October 11 and is being held by the Literature, Publishing, and Translation Commission.

The book festival consists of more than 2,000 local and foreign publishing companies from over 25 countries, in addition to other cultural establishments. The event is a prominent platform for the publishers and a center for cultural exchange, bringing together writers and book lovers from inside and outside the Kingdom.

CEO of the Literature, Publishing and Translation Commission, Dr. Abdullatif Al-Wasel, stated that the fair aligns with the Kingdom's strategy to enhance its cultural leadership both regionally and globally. He emphasized the importance of leveraging culture to drive community awareness and economic growth in line with the Saudi Vision 2030.

Dr. Al-Wasel explained that Uzbekistan's status as guest of honor for the fair is a testament to its major cultural position and robust relations with the Kingdom, highlighting the event's role in advancing cultural exchange and intellectual production. Uzbekistan presents its literary past in a pavilion of manuscripts and a varied cultural programme that spotlights Uzbek artists.

The fair comprises seminars, lectures, poetry nights, and workshops with prominent writers and intellectuals. It also comprises participation from the Theater and Performing Arts Commission, with frequent performances and collaborations with Uzbek artists.

Furthermore, the fair introduces a number of zones, which include an extended business zone to empower the publishing sector and encourage start-ups among top players.

Open each day from 11:00 a.m. until midnight, or 2:00 p.m. on Fridays, the fair welcomes visitors to discover the new publications and take part in its rich cultural program, further establishing it as a top regional cultural destination.
